Hull General Cemetery
Prim Corner - and more.....
Hi all.
I am involved in the possible renovation of Hull General Cemetery, burial site of William Clowes and a number of close friends I believe.
I am not a ‘primitive methodist’ – but I am aware that the burial site of William Clowes and others (i.e. Hodge) are very significant with regard to Primitive Methodism.
One of the objectives would be the restoration / renovation and preservation of these graves because of their religious importance. Of course Hodge (one of them – I think there are two – brothers I believe) is the Great Grandfather of Amy Johnson, a particularly famous Hull’ite’.
I am also familiar with the links to the Wedgwoods. It’s a very interesting historical topic.
I’m hoping to contact other people that have an interest in such an objective such that we might compare notes and gain support.
Pictured is an extract of the grave ledger showing Clowes grave (purchase by Eleanor his wife) and the surrounding graves including Lamb and Hodge.
Please feel free to contact me through the group – or by e-mail.

Best wishes to all.
