Records associated with Primitive Methodist Chapels in Sussex
I have identified records for a number of Primitive Methodist Chapels in Sussex, at the West Sussex Record Office, which are not currently (July 2018) featured on My Primitive Methodist Ancestors.
They are as follows.
Ref. NCM1P/2: Chichester & Bognor Regis Primitive Methodist Circuit Records, including some individual Primitive Methodist Chapel Records; Fishbourne PM Chapel; Chichester PM Chapel on Broyle Road; Emsworth PM Chapel; Wick PM Chapel in Littlehampton.
Fishbourne Primitive Methodist Chapel
This chapel was situated in Fisbourne Road West. It was founded in 1872 and closed in 1971. The building was demolished (Genuki)
Chichester Primitive Methodist Chapel – Broyle Road
The chapel was founded in 1875 and closed in 1956. The building was demolished in 1965 (Genuki)
Emsworth Primitive Methodist Chapel
No additional information located in an internet search.
Wick Primitive Methodist Chapel, nr Littlehampton
The chapel was founded in 1876 and closed in 1968. The building was demolished after closure. (Genuki)
Haywards Heath PM Chapel, Sussex Road
East Sussex Record Office has the following information about this chapel:
Ref. NMB/12/8/12: Document on a Bible presented to Miss M.A.Clarke, on the occasion of her laying “a” founding stone of the Chapel, Haywards Heath, Sussex Road, Primitive Methodist Chapel, 19th Feb., 1877.
