The date plaque is so severely weathered that it is impossible to read what was originally written there.

Despite Craster being a tiny fishing port in the far north east of England the chapel suffered ’war damage’.

The closure date is unknown and in 2013 it is a dwelling.

  • The chapel closed in September 2011 and has been converted into a family home.

    The war damage was caused by an explosion at sea and blew out all the windows.
