Ministry
The references in the Primitive Methodist Magazine, 1853, refers to Emma preaching at special services at Oxton, Nottinghamshire. The 1854 reference records that she preached at the opening services for Cromford PM Chapel in the Belper Circuit. The 1860 reference is to an obituary that was written by Emma. Clearly she continued to preach after leaving the itineracy.
Dorthy Graham comments — “Apparently Emma did not conform to the rigid connexional regulations about the plainness of dress. Whether this is why she retired from the itinerancy is not known.

Emma was born abt1820 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.
Census returns identify the following occupations for Emma.
- 1851 lace mender
- 1861 shopkeeper’s assistant
- 1871 governess
I have not been able to identify Emma in online records after 1871.
