Not every annual volume of the Primitive Methodist magazine contains detail of chapel openings.  In the following year there is no detail of individual chapel openings, although district meetings often stated the number of chapels opened in the previous 12 months:

• 1881 - Tunstall 13; Nottingham 7; Hull 6; Sunderland 5; Norwich 2; Brinkworth 4; Leeds 9; there were no numbers recorded for Manchester, Bristol, London, West Midlands and Liverpool
