Bournemouth Arnewood Road Primitive Methodist Chapel

In the 1940 listings of Methodist Church Buildings this chapel is included in the Bournemouth (Curzon Road and Winton) circuit.

The chapel was built in 1914 and closed in 1956, when the congregation moved to Southbourne Methodist Church (now called Trinity) which is only a short distance away.
It is now a private residence at number 48 Arnewood Road (BH6 5DJ) called The Chapel Studio and is currently occupied by a professional photographer.

  • It was registered with the name “Zion Primitive Methodist Church” on 2 July 1917. Its registration was not formally cancelled until 22 November 1955, at which point it was immediately re-registered by an assembly of Exclusive Brethren. It was still in use in 2009, but had been converted into a studio by 2011.
