14. Market Drayton Circuit

The Market Drayton Society has a long history, going back as far as 1824, at which time it formed part of the Burland Circuit. In 1826 it became a branch of the Prees Circuit, and in 1869 it became an independent circuit.

The pioneers were men of vision, animated by a living faith in God and possessing great spiritual power. Proceeding on their faith they were instrumental in leading hundreds to the Throne of Grace.

At the present time the Market Drayton Circuit consists of eight Societies—Market Drayton, Norton-in-Hales, Knighton, Hook Gate, Stoke Heath, Lockley Wood, Ightfield and New St. Lane, each of which has a number of loyal and devoted followers of the Lord.

The Circuit has 127 members, 163 Sunday School Scholars, and 9 local preachers.

With a band of such devoted followers the outlook is encouraging, and the future can be faced with cheerfulness and confidence. God is within and the best is yet to be.
