Pass me not, O gentle Saviour

Pass me not O gentle Saviour
reproduced from the Open Hymnal project

This is another evangelical hymn that made its way across the Atlantic with American evangelists and was included in the 1880 edition of Sacred Songs and Solos, the collection of hymns by Ira Sankey which was popular with Primitive Methodists.  The words were written in 1868 by Fanny Jane Crosby (1820-1915) and the most commonly used tune composed by William Howard Doane.

Thanks to Chris and Kath Jordan – The May Geslins – for the audio recording, December 2023.
