In the 1838 volume of the Primitive Methodist magazine there are 18 openings, re-openings and foundation stone layings reported. This includes 15 openings, 2 re-openings and 1 purchase of a chapel formerly rented.
At Wilton in the Salisbury circuit, special thanks were due to Mr William Larkam, carpenter to the Earl of Pembroke, for his superintendence of the building. At Lambourn in the Shefford circuit, Bro F Wentworth and friends “got up the chalk stone which the chapel was built with”.
At Hemsby in the Great Yarmouth circuit, the chapel was built in 1830 and designed for Prim use but it was privately owned and the owner favoured another society. However in 1835 Prims purchased the chapel for £60.
