A historical account of the Chapels and Rooms on this Circuit’ was compiled by the Rev. Jonathan Scott. He was stationed in the King’s Lynn Circuit 1862-65. He wrote,’ This Chapel has been hired of Mr Buffham of St Mary’s at the yearly rent of £4. The Superintendent Preacher has been Treasurer and Mr Thomas Buffham Chapel Steward.
This Chapel has since been made connexional property – it was purchased of the Executors of the late Mr John Buffham for the sum of £60. The settlement of the property has cost some trouble and expence [sic] owing to the conduct of Gustavus Helsham owner of the Hall who is very much annoyed that he did not get the chapel as his property. The Superintendent preacher has been Treasurer and the names of the Trustees are as follows – John Buffham, Robert Hammond, James Gunton, William Seaman, John Whiteman, Charles Haythorpe, Frederick Dent, James Wardle and Jonathan Scott.
£50 are borrowed on note of Mr R. Wharfe of Terrington. Dated May 2nd 1865.
Thomas Buffham is Chapel Steward.
