The 1882 Primitive Methodist magazine tells us the foundation stone for a new Primitive Methodist chapel has been laid at Rawcliffe, in the Goole circuit.
The old chapel was not large enough for the numbers wanting to attend. The new building would cost £700 and seat around 300.
The 1890 Ordnance Survey map shows a Primitive Methodist chapel on Station Road, immediately to the east of Chapel close. There is a bungalow on the site on Street View.
