Halton, Black Park Primitive Methodist Chapel, nr Chirk, Wrexham
Black Park Primitive Methodist Chapel, Halton, Chirk, Wrexham stands at NGR SJ 3020 4010. A bit of a mystery stems from the information available on this site. The Chapel is described as built in 1880 in the Simple Gothic Style with a Gable entry plan. This is backed up by the early OS map dated 1898 ( revised ) clearly showing the new Building and is called a Methodist Chapel. However the previous original map dated 1879 ( surveyed – a year before the new build ) shows a much smaller slightly annotated building to the rear of the property boundary from the road. OS Annotations usually means Chapel Church or School. Was this a earlier Chapel ? Any way the Chapel still stands but as far as I can tell is unused and would need eyes on clarification to clarify its status. No attached graveyard is known and its closure date is unknown.

Black Park Chapel has thanks to the efforts of Bridget Drukker been turned into an excellent community centre for performance arts and a range of community support activities.
