In the Primitive Methodist magazine of 1837, W Pentney tells us about the opening of six Primitive Methodist chapels and one re-opening in the year following September 1835 in the Wangford circuit.
In Wickham Market a large and eligible room was hired and fitted up, and a society established. Attendances were large.
The opening services for Wickham Market Primitive Methodist chapel started on 10th June 1836. W Clarke & Mr W Pentney were the opening preachers.
