Wellington Road Primitive Methodist chapel was located on the north-west corner of the junction with Wheelwright Street, opposite the Free Library. It was first built in 1865-66 and then rebuilt in 1886. It closed around 1944 and there is a car park and Dewsbury Ring Road where it formerly stood..
The Sunday School was behind and to the west of the site, opening onto Wesley Place. That building still exists in 2017 as Orchid Banqueting Suite.
