Sunderland Tatham Street Primitive Methodist Chapel

Co. Durham

Tatham Street PM Chapel, with seating for 850, was opened on 31 August 1875 at a cost of £6,500.

The church closed on 16 October, 1942, following enemy action when a 500kg bomb was dropped on the surrounding street killing 14 and injuring a further 16 people. There was extensive damage to the church but the manse adjoining was later renovated and sold.
