Barrow Hill Primitive Methodist chapel

Barrow Hill Primitive Methodist chapel

The 1874 Primitive Methodist magazine tells us that  Barrow Hill was one of five Primitive Methodist chapels in the Chesterfield circuit that had cleared its outstanding debt – in this case £40. Not only that, but they were erecting a school and classrooms.

The 1898 Ordnance Survey map shows a Primitive Methodist chapel on the western side of what is now Campbell Drive, north of Barrow Hill Round House., somewhere opposite the end of Chigwell Way.
