Brown Edge (Hill Top) Primitive Methodist Chapel Stoke-on-Trent Staffordshire
This chapel was built in 1880
Sometime known as Jake’s Chapel this small chapel sits up high on the edge of the Staffordshire Moorlands. It is not easily accessible and is best approached on foot either from Fiddlers Bank at the bottom or Chapel Lane at the top. From it there are stunning views over Brown Edge and the Staffordshire countryside.
It is not the first chapel to be built here as Hugh Bourne is thought to have had a hand in the building of an earlier one. Certainly camp meetings were held on Marshes Hill – common land high above Brown Edge.
In 2015 the chapel is still open for worship.
