The Primitive Methodist magazine of October 1894 reports that a new iron church had been opened at Rogerstone in the Newport (Monmouthshire) station. In January the previous year, services had started in the Board School and these were so successful that a new chapel became essential
Ordnance Survey maps of the time show a Primitive Methodist chapel on Tregwilym Road (NP10 9EL). There is a modern Pentecostal chapel on the site in 2019
