Llanmaddock (Llanmadoc) Primitive Methodist chapel
Llanmaddock Primitive Methodist chapel in the Swansea circuit opened on October 3rd 1836. Joseph Hibbs tells us about it in the Primitive Methodist magazine of 1837.
The opening services were conducted by two local preachers from Carmarthen. one service was held in a farmyard as there were too many people for the chapel to hold.
Llanmaddock would now be spelled Llanmadoc. On the 1879 Ordnance Survey map it is spelled Llanmadog – but I can see no Primitive Methodist chapel. Where was it and what happened to the people?
