Ratby Primitive Methodist chapel

Station Road, Ratby, Leicester LE6 0JQ

Ratby Primitive Methodist chapel

An 1822 preaching plan includes Ratby as one of its locations for services and Ratby was one of the Primitive Methodist chapels listed in the 1867 Register of places of Non-Conformist worship.

The 1901 Ordnance Survey map shows a Primitive Methodist chapel on Chapel Street.  By the 1914 map, that building is labelled Sunday School, with a new Primitive Methodist chapel built alongside it, fronting Station Road.

The chapel in 2023 is still witnessing as Ratby Methodist church.  The earlier chapel, later the Sunday school, is in residential use.
