Coundon Gate Primitive Methodist chapel

The 1896 Ordnance Survey map shows a Primitive Methodist chapel at Coundon Gate, on the eastern side of the A688 just north of the roundabout where it joins the A689 and the B6287.

The chapel is still there in the 1915 map when it is marked next to a mine shaft.  By 1939 the chapel is still there, but the mine shaft is disused.

Although the chapel has disappeared, its site  boundaries still exist in 2023.
