The 1851 census of Places of Public Religious Worship contains an entry by Joseph Franklin, a local preacher, for East Sherborne Primitive Methodists in the Basingstoke District. They did not have a chapel, but met in a “dwelling house” which claimed to seat 100 people. On census Sunday there were 126 present for the evening service.
Did they build a chapel and if so, what happened to it?
