Kay, Margaret (nee Mitcheson) (1880-1912)

Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine

In her thirty-second year, Mrs. M.H. Kay passed away, November 24th, 1912. While deeply interested in the Easington Lane Church from the time of her marriage, it was chiefly in connection with the Page Bank Society that her life-work was done.

Primitive Methodism was in her blood. Converted at a tender age, she engaged in Sunday School work. Growing in power, she was selected as leader of the Junior Christian Endeavour Society and assistant class leader. She trained the scholars for the Scripture examination year by year. Secretary to the C.E. Society, she also served as secretary for the District C.E. Union. In all these positions she succeeded by force of character, genius for friendship, and generosity of spirit.

She lived for her husband and her boy. The service in Easington Lane Church was conducted by Revs. J. Pinchen and W. Barton.
