Noble, James Anthony (1849-1917)

Family

James was born in the spring of 1849 at Hull Yorkshire, to parents John Noble, a portrait painter (1871), and Maria Thundercliffe.

Census returns identify the following occupations for James.

• 1871 PM minister
• 1881 PM preacher
• 1891 PM minister
• 1901 architectural draughtsman
• 1911 lithographic artist

He married Jane Elizabeth Harrison (1852-1928)  in the summer of 1874 at Hull. Yorkshire. Census returns identify three of five children,

• John James (1875-1943)  – a journalist (chief sub editor) (1911)                   
• Ruth Harrison (1877-1881)                           
• Dorothy (b abt1891) – a milliner (1911)                

James died in late 1917 at Hull, Yorkshire.
