  • I think the answer as to what happened to him is given in the Christian Messenger article of 1903 page 328 to be read elsewhere on this site.
    The article states that a Burton chapel was erected in 1829 in what is now known as Station Street- a roomy building and with a house erected at the back for the minister. It continues “a minister named Ellis died there and was buried in the precincts of the Station Street chapel. There is a death recorded for James Ellis in the December 1842 quarter
