The 1885 Primitive Methodist magazine records the laying of the foundation stones by the friends for a new Primitive Methodist chapel at Fulham in the Hammersmith station. The 1886 magazine tells of its opening in Bayonne Road. It was “plain but convenient”.
The society had previously met in a small back room, only eleven feet by eight in size, yet “not fewer than 50 have professed to find the Saviour at these meetings”.
The building does not exist now. The terraced housing in Bayonne Road has been completely re-developed.
What is the link with the later building on Wandsworth Bridge Road?
