Thanks to Linda Edwards for the picture of the ceremonial Trowel used at the laying of a memorial stone for the Primitive Methodist chapel at Plaistow. The inscription reads:
“Presented to Mr W Dartnall by the trustees of the Plaistow P M Chapel on the occasion of his laying a memorial stone September 1883”
William Dartnall, was the Architect of the chapel. He was Linda’s three times great grandfather. You can read about him here.
Where was the chapel and what’s its story?
