The move to the former Elim chapel in Fetter Lane is recorded in the Primitive Methodist magazine of 1845  by J Friskin. They had to move out of their previous home as it was due to be pulled down for a projected railway.

The new chapel help around 1,000, was “well pewed and lighted in the bottom as well as in the first and second galleries”. Opening services started from February 2nd 1845 and opening preachers included J Garner, T Holliday, W Howcroft, J Flesher, J Hallam and G West
