John Hickson completed two returns to the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship, one for Comberbach and one for Comberbach Green, both in the parish of Budworth.

In both places the services were held in houses – Comberbach in the afternoon when the average attendance was 18 and Comberbach Green in the evening when the average attendance was 35
