Radmore Green Primitive Methodist chapel

Radmore Green: Return from the Primitive Methodist chapel in the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship
transcribed by David Tonks

The Return from the Primitive Methodist chapel in Radmore Green  in the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship was signed with his mark by John Chesters, a local preacher.

It reports that the chapel opened in 1842.  Attendance was normally 40 – 50, but was less than that on Census Sunday as it was a boisterous day.

Cheshire archives  confirm that the chapel opened in 1841 and tell us further that it was rebuilt in 1905 and closed in 1980.
