Edwards, Margaret (nee Sowerby) (1842-1912)

Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by J. Graham

By the death of Mrs. Edwards our Frizington Church in the Whitehaven Circuit lost its oldest member. She was a Cumberland woman, and was born in the year 1843. Her husband, Mr. Henry Edwards, migrated from Wales, and settled as an ore-miner in the Cleator district. He died five years ago.

Mrs. Edwards was converted to God when a young woman, and was a faithful and devoted member of our Church for nearly fifty years. Her house was a home for the preachers, and she took a great interest in the missionary cause.

On Jan. 31st she was reverently laid to rest in Frizington Churchyard, Revs. J. Graham and Jas. Henderson officiating. Six sons and three daughters hold the memory of their mother in loving gratitude.
