Ely, Faith (nee Bradshaw) (1837-1913)

Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by R.P.

On February 24th, 1913, Mrs. Ely, widow of the late Mr. John Ely, entered into her eternal rest. Born at Leeds in 1837, her mother and father were staunch Primitive Methodists, having been associated with Hugh Bourne and William Clowes. Removing to Abingdon many years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Ely re-introduced Primitive Methodism into that place, and the whole of their lives laboured for the cause.

Though Mrs. Ely had been in failing health for some years her interest and enthusiasm never cooled. A very bright Christian, she was ever ready to help on any good work. A most devoted wife and mother, in her death her children mourn an irreparable loss.

Her home was ever open to the ambassadors of Christ, and many are the ministers who can testify to her generosity, kindly hospitality and Christian character. In her last brief illness she was calm and trustful, and her Lord found her ready and waiting when He called.
