Ashley, Jacob Mills (1816-1898)

Family

Jacob was born on 7 September 1816 at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, to parents Jacob, a sailor, and Elizabeth. He was baptised on 11 September 1816 at St Nicholas, Yarmouth.

Jacob married Hannah Herod (1822-1888) in the summer of 1843 in the Spalding Registration District, Lincolnshire. Census returns identify eight children.

Hannah and children arrived in USA in February 1857.

The US 1860 census, finds Jacob as a Protestant Minister in Milton, Saratoga, New York. He died on 9 July 1898 at Ithaca, Gratiot, Michigan, USA.
