Transcription of obituary published in the Minutes of Conference
ALFRED LAWTON: who died on 6th November, 1972, in the seventy-fourth year of his age and the fifty-first of his ministry, served in the following circuits: Glasgow II (Hartley College), East London Mission, Chelmsford, Hornsea, Nigeria District of West Africa (three terms), Penrith, Horncastle, Oldbury (Wesley), Winsford (St. Paul’s) and Cheadle.
At his own request there is no obituary notice.
Family
Alfred was born on 11 October 1898 at Ryhope, Co. Durham, to parents Thomas, a Prudential life assurance superintendent (1901), and Mary.
He married Jessie Ellen Munden (1899-1981) in the spring of 1928 in the Auckland Registration District, Co. Durham.
Alfred died on 6 November 1972 in the Salisbury Registration District, Wiltshire.
