Family

Garnet was born on 2 May 1905 at  South Hetton, Co. Durham, to parents James, a coal miner, and Margaret Ellen.

He married Agnes Oxley (b1903) in the summer of 1932 in the Sedgefield Registration District, Co. Durham. Birth records identify two children.

• Gareth (1933-2008) – died in Canada
• Margaret (1937-2018) – died in Canada

Garnet died on 25 December 1992.
