transcribed by David Tonks 2021

The return from the Primitive Methodist society in Hooley Hill to the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious worship tells us that the society had been using the preaching room since 1849.It held 70 people and, although not a separate building, was used exclusively for worship.

On Census Sunday 30 people attended the evening service. The return was completed by William Wood, local preacher of Dukenfield Godards Houses.
