Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine

On September 18th, 1912, Mangotsfield Church (Bristol V.) lost one of its most valued and esteemed members in the sudden passing of Mary Ann Davis. Born February 6th, 1866, at Mangotsfield, she maintained a lifelong association with all the departments of our Church and school life. Our sister will ever be remembered for her quiet, unassuming, and kindly disposition, and especially for her unselfish and Christly character and life. Her love for God’s house was great, and seldom was she absent from the Sabbath or week-day services. To her scholars she was tender and leal-hearted, while many sought her for her genial, helpful, and hopeful companionship.

The funeral service held in our church was conducted by Rev. J. Lewis Williams, assisted by Mr. S.S. Powell. The interment took place at Mangotsfield and Downend cemetery. Though sorely stricken by the sad and unexpected event, the bereaved father and sister are comforted and sustained, above all, by the hope of reunion in the Homeland.
