Family

Christopher was born on 24 December 1843 at Tillenburg, Ontario to parents John Garnett and Alice P. (nee Jackson). John was a clerk and then an accountant. The family were identified in the Census as Wesleyan Methodists

He married Caroline Amelia Forbes (1849-1934) on 25 December 1865 at Elgin, Ontario, in a Wesleyan Methodist ceremony. Census returns identify six children.

Christopher emigrated to the United States, obtaining citizenship on 19 November 1881. He continued to be a minister, living in Michigan. He died on 1 March 1933 at Durand, Michigan and is buried in Lovejoy Cemetery.
