Family

James was baptised on 10 September 1809 at Liddiard-Tregooze, Wiltshire. His parents were John, a farmer, and Mary.

Census returns identify the following occupations for James.

• 1871 retired farmer & local preacher
• 1881 retired farmer
• 1891 retired farmer

He married Elizabeth Edwards (abt1820-1895) in the summer of 1870 in the Abingdon Registration District, Berkshire. Elizabeth died just 5days before James.

James died on 29 March 1895 and was buried on 1 April 1895 at Abingdon, Berkshire.
