Tomlinson, Thomas (1817-1837)

Thomas Tomlinson, of Belper, was born April 11, 1817.  At twelve years of age he was converted to God, joined our society, and, with the exception of a few months, he continued a steady member until his death.   In August, hearing that his brother John had met with a watery grace, he was much shocked, and his health began to decline apace.  But in the summer of he was able to work again.  But about Christmas he was attacked with the influenza, and was gradually worn down.  I frequently asked if he was resigned to the will of God, and he said, “I am willing to live or die, as it pleaseth God.”  He died July 15,1837, aged twenty years.
