Taylor, Henry (1837-1916)

Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by W.F. Clulow

For half a century Henry Taylor has been a familiar figure in Lowton Road Church and School on the Lowton Circuit. As a lad he was privileged to have for his Sunday school teacher Dora Greenwell, her brother being the first rector of Golborne. Often has he spoken to the writer of her charm, her strong Christian character, her wonderful power of imparting Biblical truth.

When a young man he was led into fellowship with our Church and, as trustee, steward, teacher, and school superintendent, he gave long years of devout, faithful and generous service.

On March 1st a large company gathered at the funeral service and at the interment in Golborne Churchyard.
