Research Notes

A Jane Tweedy was born on 9 September 1810, to parents William and Rachel. She was baptised on 9 April 1817 at St Mary the Virgin, Whitby.

A marriage licence was issued dated 21 march 1836 for a marriage between a Jane Tweedy and Richard Hall. She was living in Whitby and Richard was from Pocklington, the last appointment of Jane on the circuits.

The 1841 census return records a Jane Hall, married to Richard Hall, a joiner, living at Pocklington with two children, Jane, born abt1837, and Richard born 1838.

Richard Hall’s birth record for Quarter 4, 1838 at Pocklington records his mother’s maiden name as Twedy.

A Jane Hall, born abt1811, died at Pocklington in the spring of 1889.
