Minton, Edward (1818-1889)

Family

Edward was born in 1818 at Ludlow, Shropshire, to parents William, a servant (1818), and Elizabeth. He was baptised on 30 August 1818 at Ludlow.

He married Sophia Major (1827-1891)  in the spring of 1850 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Census returns identify three children.

• Ethelbert Edward Major (1851-1923) – a banker’s accountant (1901)
• William Augustus Charles (b1852) – a silk agent (1888)
• Hampden Alfred (1853-1934) – a bank manager, retired (1911)             

Edward died on 23 January 1889 in the Stockport Registration District, Cheshire. He is buried in the Southern Cemetery, Manchester, Lancashire.
