Mabour, George (1763-1837)

Died at Lytchett, in Poole circuit, September 25, 1837, George Mabour, aged 74 years.  On his arriving at manhood he was converted to God, and run well for a season, but soon awfully fell into drunkenness, and so continued for a long course of years.  But on the P. Methodists visiting the place he was savingly reclaimed; opened his door for preaching, and many souls were converted to God under his roof, some of whom are gone to heaven.

Our brother continued stedfast in the faith to the end of life.  I had many pleasing interviews with him during his last illness; and constantly found him in a humble state, praising God for all his mercies, for saving so old a sinner.  His end was crowned with victory.
