Marsden, Beatrice Ibbotson B.A. (1893-1915)

Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by J.R.T.

The Abbeydale Circuit, Sheffield, and our church at Dore in particular, have suffered an irreparable loss in the passing of Miss B.I. Marsden, B.A., at the early age of twenty-three years.

After years of patient and persistent study, she gained her B.A. in June last, and looked forward with ardent hope and glowing expectation to a future consecrated to Christ. Her gracious Christian influence in the Sheffield University was wonderful. She was president of the Women’s Student Christian Union and a member of the Missionary Committee.

She was an enthusiastic Sunday school worker and the head of the Primary Department. Temperance propaganda found in her an ardent supporter, and she was secretary of the junior branch of the Women’s Total Abstinence Union in the village.

Short as her earthly life proved, it was crowded with interests, full of noble impulses, wonderful in the width and range of its Christian outlook and purpose. We pray that God may comfort the bereaved family.
