Parnaby, John (1832-1879)

Family

John was born on 9 January near Ripon, Yorkshire, to parents George, a farmer (1841), and Elizabeth. He was baptised on 5 February 1832 at Ripon Cathedral.

He married Eliza Pullan (1832-1910) in the summer of 1854 at Pateley Bridge, Yorkshire. Census returns identify eight children.

  • John Murray (1857-1930) – a clerk (1881); Borough accountant (1901)
  • Alice Jane (1859-1927) – a nursing matron (1901)
  • George Craven (1862-1936)  – a sales manager of jar products (1911)            
  • Anne Elizabeth (1865-1932) – a hospital nurse (1901)
  • Eliza Louisa (1868-1909)  – a housekeeper (1901)                   
  • Frederick Arthur (1869-1942) – an accounts clerk (1891); chartered accountant (1911)
  • Emily Martha (1871-1955) – a boarding house keeper (1911)

John died on 28 July 1879 at Middlesbrough, Yorkshire.
