Pauling, Charles Beecroft (1860-1945)

Family

Charles was born on 21 November 1860 at Hull, Yorkshire, to parents John Dopkin Pauling, an accountant, and Sarah Ann Beecroft.

Before entering the ministry, Charles worked as an apprentice with the Hull Dock Company.

He transferred to the Anglican ministry after leaving the Primitive Methodists. He was vicar at Balby with Hexthorpe, nr Doncaster, for many years, and retired to Thisk.

He married Clara Eliza Milner (1863-1912) on 7 August 1886 at Hull, Yorkshire. Census returns identify three children.

• Annie (1887-1979) – housekeeper (1939)
• Marion (1888-1927)
• Charles Herbert (1891-1960) – clerk in holy orders (1939)

Charles died on 10 November 1945 at Thirsk, Yorkshire.
