Clarke, James (1846-1926)

Family

James was born abt1846 at Aldercar, Heanor, Derbyshire. I have not been able to identify his parents.

He married Selina Turner (1840-1924) in the summer of 1874 at Grantham, Lincolnshire. Census returns identify two daughters.

• Mary Ann E (b1875)
• Fanny Selina Louisa (1877-1963) – a shop assistant (1911)

In addition James adopted a son James William born abt1890.

After leaving the ministry the family settled in Bolsover, Derbyshire. In 1901 James is recorded as an assurance agent and in 1911 as a colliery clerk.

James died in late 1926 at Bolsover, Derbyshire.
