Cank, Frances Mary (nee Bourne) (1859-1914)

Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by W.H.

Our Clive Society, Hadnall Circuit, has suffered a very severe loss in the death of Mrs. R. Cank. Fifty-five years of age, she has been taken in the full height of womanhood. In many ways — notably as organist—she served our cause with conspicuous ability but with characteristic modesty. Often would she undertake extra home duties in order that her husband might take his appointments. So useful and active was she that she seemed well-nigh indispensable.

The largely attended funeral service was an indication of the esteem in which she was held. Rev. W. Wright conducted a memorial service, at which he paid a fine tribute to the character of the deceased. We commend the bereaved family to the God of all wisdom and consolation.
