Family
William was born in 1829 at Easington, Yorkshire, to parents Anthony and Elizabeth. he was baptised on 1 March 1829 at Easington, nr Patrington, Yorkshire.
Before entering the ministry William worked as a joiner.
He married Mary Smith Hurst (1831-1866) in late 1859 in the Pastry Registration District, Kent. Census returns identify three children.
- Adela Mary (1860-1878)
- Herbert William (1861-1924) – an engine fitter (1881); an insurance agent (1911)
- Charles Eustace (1866-1935) – a post office worker (1911)
William died in September 1876 at Liverpool, Lancashire. He was buried on 26 September 1876 at Toxteth Park Cemetery, Liverpool.
